Principal Engineer

We are seeking a highly-motivated, hardworking, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Principal Civil Engineer, with an interest in progressing towards a potential Directorship.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing technical reports, providing assistance to senior management in the preparation of technical and financial proposals, and contributing to work-winning efforts, including the preparation of bid documents.

Management of personal and team budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet financial targets, have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, as well as extensive experience in the inspection, assessment, and design of various structures is a must.

A key aspect of the role is to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and apply them within the team environment where appropriate.

They will also act as the Contractor’s Responsible Engineer and coordinate the production of specifications and drawings.

Additional responsibilities will include undertaking concept design, feasibility studies, and preliminary design, as well as attending meetings with teams, clients, contractors, and statutory bodies, including Technical Approvals when required.

Supervising, mentoring and training staff is also a critical part of the role.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Civil Engineer with strong communication skills, particularly in client-facing roles. However, we would be open to support the right candidate to achieving their Chartered status. A minimum of 10 years’ design experience in a range of civil engineering projects is essential, along with a full UK driving licence.
