Piling is an essential part of building works to ensure strong foundations and prevent the risk of any future subsidence or ground movement. Piling is series of slender columns or long cylinders made of materials such as concrete or steel which are used to support the structure and transfer the load at desired depth. Piling is a way of securing the foundations of a building that rests on weak soil or other material, such as sand or silt. Unlike traditional foundations, piling transfers the load to a deeper level by driving or boring through the ground along a certain length of area to carry and transfer loads to soil considered to be too weak to carry the structure.
